Member Guidelines
How did I become a member of the Business Riverview Association?
Members belong to the Business Riverview Association simply by locating their business within the geographic boundaries of the Riverview Business Improvement Area (BIA). These boundaries are defined in By-law 5-1 of the Town of Riverview. The by-law states that all properties within this geographic area, and all commercial tenants of these properties, are members of the Business Improvement Association.
Where is the Riverview BIA located?
The Riverview Business Improvement Area (BIA) includes all commercial operations located within the following boundries: the rear south lot lines on Coverdale Road to the Petitcodiac River, from Trites Road to Pine Glen Road including Trites Road from Coverdale Road to Traynor Street, Findlay Boulevard from Coverdale Road to Bradford Road, and Pine Glen Road from Coverdale Road to Devere Road.
How is a Business Improvement Area funded?
Funding for a BIA is provided through the collection of a special levy placed on all commercial and industrial properties within a defined business area. Levies are calculated based on the commercial tax assessment of individual properties. Once the BIA's annual budget is approved by BIA members and ratified by the municipality, levies are collected by the Province of New Brunswick and returned to the BIA to manage. Levies of 20 cents/$100 property assessment are paid to the Business Riverview Association by Riverview BIA member businesses.
Businesses located outside the BIA boundaries who wish to be involved in Association activities are classified as "Associate Members".
Their fees are:
1-5 employees $50
6-10 employees $85
and 11+ employees $115
