Networking Social with Nancy Gamlin-Legere

1. Networking Social

On Tuesday April 13th, our after five social welcomed Nancy Gamlin-Legere from Concept Communications who facilitated a Networking session. The evening was fun and filled with useful tips and advice on the skills required to network as effectively as possible and all of the benefits that networks can bring. There were snacks and drinks and interactive conversation to help bring the evening to life. Nancy is a powerful speaker and has a sincere manner and approach, we are very grateful to her for sharing her insights with us - those who did not attend this free training event missed out on plenty of useful information.

Nancy will be back with us for another Networking session in June at our After 5 Social. If you missed her the first time make sure you attend this next session. You will be glad that you did. Check the calendar or the advanced planning section of the newsletter for more details.

Local businesses and residents are encouraged to clean-up and beautify their own properties as well and everyone is invited to come down to the Superstore and help tidy up an area that we all benefit from and many of us use – the Riverfront.

Local Businesses are especially asked to attend and help out. Bring you staff and where company t-shirts or hats to promote your involvement in community activities. See you there!

When: Sunday May 16th 2004 – 10:00am to 1:00pm
Where: Starting at The Atlantic Superstore
Why: Free BBQ, free coffee, clowns for the kids and the chance to help clean up your town.

Presidents Message

We enjoyed one of the most exciting and knowledgeable “Business after 5” sessions April 13th that we have ever had. Nancy Gamlin-Legere facilitated an excellent networking session that was both fun and beneficial in learning new ways to build business. Instead of wondering how some become so successful in their business, we learned how it is done and how to apply the same techniques that will make us more successful. The interaction with the people we encounter during each day is probably one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to promote ourselves and our business. Like other networking sessions that I have experienced, it reinforces the fact that the more people that you meet and present a positive attitude to, the more successful you are in your own business.

I would like to thank the Town of Riverview for sponsoring us for this session in Networking. We all learned many new things and enjoyed the session. It was appreciated by all of those who attended.
