Presidents Message
One of the most important components of running a successful business
is marketing.
Being able to identify your target market and determine your goals
and how to advertise effectively is essential. An inexpensive form
of advertising is by word of mouth. Being in any social setting provides
us with the opportunity to talk about our business and meet others
who, like ourselves, are promoting their business. We are pleased
to have Nancy Gamlin Legere attending our next Business after 5 in
April who will help us develop better techniques in networking.
One of our goals for the Downtown Riverview is to help our businesses
that we represent become more successful. Part of trying to achieve
this goal was to encourage businesses to get to know one another so
we can offer each other support. Make a point of being at our April
Business Social on the Tuesday the 13th so you can become better acquainted
and promote your business.
Sherry Wilson – President Downtown Riverview

Wacky Wednesday Results
The Riverview Winter Carnival has come and gone this year, and as
in the past years our association took part in Wacky Wednesday. A
day that encourages the businesses to dress up a little crazy and
have fun. There was very encouraging results this March though we
would like to see it be even more successful next year. This years
winner was Trico Credit Union. They are now in possession of the Wacky
Wednesday Trophy and will be able to display it proudly until next
year, when at the beginning of the Winter Carnival, JJ the clown and
I will go and retrieve the trophy to see if anyone can compete with
those 'wacky' people at Trico. Congratulations Trico Credit Union.

Advertise in Vision with the Times
& Transcript
The Times & Transcript is running its annual Vision magazine
event. This magazine that promotes our area, will have a special section
for Riverview and its businesses and associations. If you are interested
in placing an ad in this well read supplement to the Times, please
contact Alicia - Contact information can be found by clicking on the
Vision 2004 application form at the lower left corner. To see a simplified
sample please click the top picture on the left. Downtown Riverview
will be placing an ad in this years Vision and will be encircled by
the other businesses that opt to advertise as well.
This is good advertising money spent, since unlike the paper, the
Vision magazine often is kept around and not discarded as quickly
as a daily newspaper. In addition, the ads placed in the magazine
will be posted on www.canadaeast.com
for three months! Call Alicia today to confirm you ad placement.
